In Lviv, a reckless driver crashed into the gate of the Lychakiv cemetery. Video

Today, around 2 o’clock in the morning, the patrol officers received a call from a concerned resident of the dormitory on Mechnikova Street. He reported that the car, driving along Shimzeriv Street, collided with the stone gate of the Lychakiv cemetery. According to the applicant, the driver is standing next to the car.

This was reported to the Patrol Police of the Lviv Region.

Patrolmen immediately went to the scene. Approaching, they noticed a man who began to walk quickly from the scene of the adventure. He was immediately stopped. During the conversation with the driver of the BMW car, it became clear to the police what was the main cause of the accident. A check on the Drager device confirmed the guess — 1.60 ppm.

The 27-year-old driver did not agree to the inspection and wanted to go to a medical facility. There he refused to be re-examined for alcohol intoxication. Two protocols were drawn up against the man: under Art. 124 (Violation of traffic rules that led to an accident) and Part 1 of Art. 130 (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated) of the Criminal Procedure Code, as well as a resolution for the absence of a civil liability policy.

The management of LKP “Lychakivske kladovishche” was called to the scene of the incident. The amount of damages will be assessed by a special commission, because this is a monument of state importance.
