In Lviv, a drunken car service worker stole a car, committed an accident and fled the scene

On 5 July at night, Lviv Patrol Police received a report of an accident on Zelena Street. At the scene, patrol policemen found that the driver of a Mercedes-Benz had collided with a Skoda Octavia and fled the scene.

On the way to Luhanska Street, the driver caused another accident with an Audi and drove off without stopping.

While processing the materials of the investigative accident, the patrol policemen were approached by a man who said that he was the employer of the culprit. The latter had taken the car from a car service without his knowledge. After contacting the man, he reported that the Mercedes-Benz had caught fire.

After searching for the 35-year-old citizen, patrol policemen found signs of intoxication. The man said that he had been drinking alcohol after the accident. He agreed to take a test.

The result was 1.51 ppm.

The patrol policemen issued a resolution under Part 2 of Art. 126 (Driving a vehicle by a person who does not have the right to drive such a vehicle), as well as five reports:
📌 Part 4 of Art. 130 (Drinking alcohol after an accident or after stopping and before being checked by an authorised person);
📌 two reports under Art. 124 (Violation of traffic rules that led to an accident);
📌 two reports under Art. 122-4 (Leaving the scene of an accident) of the CAO.

The case was subsequently transferred to investigators.
