On the evening of Tuesday, August 22, unknown persons damaged the sculpture “Confident” in Stryi Park. The female sculpture was doused with a substance similar to technical grease, and they wanted to set it on fire. A park guard noticed a crowd of people in front of the sculpture around 11:00 p.m. and immediately called the police.
Law enforcement officers are checking surveillance cameras to establish the circumstances and persons who committed the crime. The curator of the project Pavlo Gudimov has already gone to the place and is closely cooperating with the law enforcement officers.
As a reminder, the sculpture “Confident” was installed as part of a temporary exhibition, which consists of eight modern sculptures from the collection of the Kaniv Art Association “Chervone Chorne”. It was opened as part of the annual Lviv Sculpture Week.
The exhibition will be open to everyone until November 2024.
