In Lviv, operatives of the criminal investigation department detained the perpetrator immediately after committing the theft from the store

A 43-year-old man from Lviv, who is suspected of stealing proceeds and goods, faces up to eight years in prison for his crime.

As the law enforcement officers established, on the night of April 22, an intruder broke into the premises of one of the shops located on Lychakivska Street in Lviv, took possession of 12 thousand hryvnias in cash, as well as goods, after which he fled.

Immediately after committing the theft, he was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Lviv Oblast Police, who were working on the service territory. The detainee was identified as a 43-year-old resident of Lviv. Physical evidence was taken from him.

Investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 informed the intruder of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The policemen remind that in the conditions of martial law, maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or taking possession of it by abuse of official position.
