A house burned down in Lviv on Horodotska Street: six people, including a child, were rescued

On March 13, at 03:59, the Rescue Service “101” received a report of a fire in Lviv on Horodotska Street. The fire broke out in the basement of a five-story residential building.

Rescuers from the 2nd and 4th State Fire and Rescue Units of Lviv were sent to the scene.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, thick black smoke was coming out of the basement, causing the stairwell to fill with smoke and preventing the residents of one of the building’s entrances from getting out into the fresh air on their own.

The rescuers put on special respiratory and visual protection devices and began to extinguish the fire and rescue people. Using special rescue hoods, the firefighters rescued 6 people, including 1 child, from the smoky apartments.

At 04:18, the firefighters localized the fire and eliminated it at 04:27.

The fire destroyed garbage in the basement of the house on the area of 5 square meters. A total of 10 firefighters and 2 units of special equipment were engaged in the firefighting.
