In Lviv, the police quickly arrested an intruder who defiantly robbed an elderly man in the entrance

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On May 8, at 2:30 p.m., the police received a report from an 80-year-old man from Lviv that he had been robbed on Volodymyr Velykyi Street in Lviv.

Operatives of the criminal police and investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 immediately went to the scene of the incident. As the law enforcement officers established, the intruder took out a wallet with money from the pocket of the victim, who was in the entrance of the house, and ran away.

After studying the recordings from the video surveillance cameras, the police established the identity and whereabouts of the attacker, a 35-year-old man with a previous conviction who temporarily lives in Lviv.

He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Physical evidence was taken from him.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
