In Lviv, police are looking for a driver who hit a pedestrian and fled the scene

Anyone who has any information that can help establish the circumstances of the accident should call 102 or the nearest police station.

The road accident occurred on 3 December, around 21.20, on Pylyp Orlyk Street in Lviv. As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, an unknown driver of an unidentified vehicle hit a 76-year-old Lviv resident and fled the scene.

As a result of the accident, the elderly man was injured and hospitalised.

Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.

A number of operational and investigative measures are being taken to identify the driver who committed the accident and locate the vehicle.
