The road traffic accident occurred on 6 June at 10.35 a.m. at 120 Shevchenko Street in Lviv. As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, an unknown driver of an unidentified black car hit a cyclist, a 32-year-old resident of Ternopil Oblast, and fled the scene.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the two-wheeler was injured and taken to a medical facility.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety). The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
A range of operational and investigative measures are being carried out, and law enforcement officers are establishing the identity of the driver who committed the accident and the location of the car.
