The traffic accident occurred on March 9 at 3:40 p.m. on Yeroshenka Street in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, a 56-year-old man from Lviv, who was driving a VAZ 21210 car, suddenly felt ill, drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with two cars: a Citroen C4 Picasso driven by a 22-year-old man from Lviv and “VAZ 1117”, driven by a 29-year-old man from Lviv.
The driver of “VAZ 21210” died before the arrival of medics, an examination has been scheduled to determine the cause of his death. Other participants in the accident were not injured.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
