In Lviv, the police took into custody a suspect in the theft of a purse from a bank visitor

The perpetrator, a 40-year-old man from Lviv, who had previously been criminally charged, was exposed by operatives of the criminal police, investigators and employees of other units of police department No. 2 of Lviv district police department No. 2.

According to the police, on April 7, around 9:30 a.m., in the premises of one of the banking institutions on Sykhivska Street, an intruder stole a wallet with money, bank cards and documents from a visitor, a 26-year-old resident of Lviv, and then fled.

Through the conducted measures, after studying the recordings of the video surveillance cameras, the law enforcement officers established the identity and probable location of the intruder and promptly detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The detainee’s identity has been established – he turned out to be a 40-year-old man from Lviv, who had previously been criminally charged. Physical evidence was taken from him.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect – detention.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The law enforcement officers remind that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum penalties are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
