In Lviv, the police arrested a criminal who was carrying out drug busts near the lyceum

The 24-year-old man from Lviv faces up to eight years in prison for his crime.

On January 23, around 3:30 p.m., police officers of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, while patrolling the territory, noticed a man behaving suspiciously near the Lyceum on Simonenko Street.

During a cursory check, law enforcement officers found prepackaged zip-top bags with narcotic substances in his possession, ready for distribution.

The investigative and operative group of the territorial division of the police worked on the spot. The law enforcement officers discovered and seized from a 24-year-old Lviv man 15 zip-bags with a crystalline substance, outwardly similar to the narcotic substance “Alfa”, as well as 4 zip-bags with a white substance, outwardly similar to amphetamine.

In addition, the police found three stashes of amphetamine near the lyceum, which the attacker managed to make.

Everything removed is directed to expert research.

Law enforcement officers detained the pawnbroker in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of four to eight years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
