In Lviv, police detained an attacker on suspicion of distributing “cannabis”

The detainee, a 23-year-old resident of Rivne, who temporarily lived in a rented apartment in Lviv, faces up to eight years in prison.

According to operatives of the Lviv Oblast Anti-Crime Department together with investigators of the Lviv Police Department №1 of the Lviv District Police Department №2, the suspect was selling the drug cannabis by sending mail from Lviv to other regions of Ukraine.

On April 6, law enforcement officers detained the malefactor in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the detention, he had with him 2 bags and a backpack containing 10 boxes (postal items) containing a substance similar in appearance to the drug “cannabis”, packed in 18 bags and ready to send.

In addition, during an authorized search of the rented apartment where the detainee lived, law enforcement officers found and seized cannabis weighing about 500 grams – partially packaged, packaged and ready to ship, electronic scales, boxes and boxes for packaging and wrapping. draft records and other physical evidence of his involvement in illegal activities – all directed to expert research.

At black market prices, the value of the seized drug is about 170,000 hryvnias.

According to the court decision, the detainee is in custody, investigators of the territorial police department informed him of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues ) Of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.
