In Lviv, the law enforcement officers informed the couple about suspicion of fraud

The suspects, who traded non-existent goods on the Internet, were exposed by the operatives of the Cybercrime Prevention Office in the Lviv region together with the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office.

As the law enforcement officers established, a husband and wife aged 31, residents of Lviv, created a page on the Internet where ads for the sale of women’s clothing were posted. But in fact, the attackers did not have the goods. They received money from the client as a down payment for the dress, which they later appropriated.

The investigators informed the perpetrators of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – a fine of four thousand to eight thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or deprivation of liberty for a period of three to five years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
