Two murderers of pensioners will be tried in Lviv

Under the procedural leadership of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, 43-year-old and 30-year-old residents of Transcarpathia were notified of suspicion of robbery (Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The latter was also charged with intentional homicide for selfish reasons (clause 6, part 2, article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The suspects were remanded in custody.

According to the investigation, two men committed a robbery attack on a pensioner in the park zone of one of Lviv’s educational institutions in the evening.

One of the attackers struck the woman numerous times on the head with a metal armature, causing the victim to lose consciousness. After that, the suspects took a bag of groceries, UAH 700, from the woman and ran away. The comrades bought alcohol with the stolen funds.

The injured pensioner was discovered by passers-by, who called an ambulance. However, the woman later died in the hospital.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
