Accused in ammunition trafficking to be tried in Lviv

The offender, who is in custody, faces imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.

The previously convicted 47-year-old resident of Lviv was exposed by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department and investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office.

It was established that the accused illegally purchased, stored and then sold two F-1 combat grenades to local residents for UAH 3,500 each.

On January 29, law enforcement officers detained the offender after he sold the ammunition in one of the districts of Lviv.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment was sent to the court for consideration.

The accused faces imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
