An intruder accused of murdering a roommate will be tried in Lviv

A 48-year-old resident of Chernivtsi, who is in custody, faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment for the crime.

As the law enforcement officers established, on July 1, around 2:00 p.m., a conflict arose between the intruder and his roommate, a local resident aged 37, in a forest plantation in the city of Vinnyky, during which the man stabbed the woman in the chest, causing her fatal injury. After that he ran away.

As a result of the measures taken, operatives of the criminal police and investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, together with operatives of the criminal investigation of the Lviv Oblast police, established the location of the intruder and detained him.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed, the indictment has been sent to the court for consideration.

The accused, who was previously brought to criminal liability, faces a penalty of seven to fifteen years of imprisonment.
