The 31-year-old resident of Stryi was exposed by investigators of the Serious Crimes Investigation Department (detectives) of the Lviv Police jointly with the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region, under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
While still on the loose, the offender illegally purchased an AK 12 Kalashnikov rifle and four grenades: RGD-5, RGN and two F-1 grenades. He hid the weapons and ammunition in different places in Lviv region, and later, while already in one of the Lviv penitentiary institutions, illegally sold them, informing the buyer of the places of “bookmarks”.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment was sent to the court for consideration.
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
