An offender who stabbed her friend with a knife will be tried in Lviv

The 34-year-old Lviv resident faces up to eight years’ imprisonment for her crime.

The police received a report about a patient who had been admitted to a Lviv hospital with a diagnosis of penetrating chest wound on 13 June at around 2am. Criminal police operatives, investigators and employees of other units of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 were involved in solving the crime.

As law enforcement officers established, the night before, the injured, a 38-year-old Lviv resident, was visited by his acquaintance, also a 34-year-old resident of Lviv. At some point, a conflict arose between the host and the guest, during which the woman stabbed the man in the chest, causing serious bodily harm.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment was sent to the court for consideration.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
