In Lviv, a son stabbed his mother with a knife

The offender faces imprisonment for up to eight years.

According to law enforcement officers, on March 17, around five in the morning, in an apartment of a house on Ivan Bohun Street in Lviv, a 40-year-old man stabbed his 72-year-old mother during a domestic conflict. Subsequently, doctors diagnosed the victim with a “penetrating wound of the abdominal wall”.

Criminal police operatives, investigators and other officers of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 were involved in solving the crime. The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint.

Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, served the detainee a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
