The police of the Lviv region warns that all road users – drivers and pedestrians – should be as careful and attentive as possible during the dark hours of the day. Pedestrians – cross the road only in designated areas and wear reflective clothing.
The traffic accident occurred on January 18 at 8 p.m. on Pancha Street in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda Octavia, a 49-year-old man from Lviv, hit a pedestrian, a 39-year-old local woman.
As a result of the accident, the woman received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
