The traffic accident happened on April 10, around 9:10 p.m., on Vyacheslav Chornovola Avenue in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe, a 52-year-old man from Lviv, hit a pedestrian, an 80-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the elderly man was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
