The accident occurred on August 2 at 15.20 at the intersection of Stryiska-Luhanska streets.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Volkswagen Passat, a 40-year-old resident of Poltava Oblast, hit a cyclist, a 66-year-old resident of Lviv. As a result, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
