The traffic accident happened today, February 13, around 6:30 a.m., on Kulparkivska Street in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Passat, a 22-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a 63-year-old pedestrian, also a local resident.
As a result of the accident, the man received serious injuries and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
