A man was killed by a train in Lviv

An investigative team is working at the scene to identify the deceased, and criminal proceedings have been opened.

The incident occurred today, August 14, at about 9:20 a.m. at the Sykhiv railway station on Zelena Street in Lviv. It was established that the man died on the spot from the injuries sustained as a result of the train collision.

Investigators of the Department for Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 (Violation of the rules of safety of movement or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

Pre-trial investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
