Two drunk drivers committed car accidents in Lviv today

The first accident occurred on Zelena Street around midnight. The driver of a Mercedes-Benz lost control and drove into a tree.

While talking to the 67-year-old driver, the patrol officers found signs of alcohol intoxication. The inspectors offered the man to undergo a test at the scene or in a medical facility, which the driver refused.

Another accident occurred on Snopkivska Street. While patrolling the city, the inspectors spotted the accident and stopped to see if help was needed. A 53-year-old driver driving a VAZ failed to keep a safe distance and hit the car in front of him, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

While talking to the driver, the patrol policemen detected signs of intoxication. The driver refused to take a test for alcohol intoxication.

Patrol policemen drew up reports against the perpetrators of the accident under Part 1 of Art. 130 (Driving while intoxicated) and Art. 124 (Violation of the traffic rules that led to an accident) of the CAO. Also, the driver of the VAZ car received a report under Part 1 of Art. 126 (Lack of relevant documents) of the CAO.

Alcohol and driving are incompatible, so don’t risk your life and the lives of innocent people!
