Tangled stories unravelled at the border: border guards of the Lviv Detachment expose pseudo-spouses
At the Hrushev checkpoint on the border with Poland, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment exposed a 56-year-old resident of Cherkasy region, a person with a group II disability, who had married a 44-year-old countryman without intentions of starting a family.
According to the woman, the “couple” allegedly went to Denmark to visit her daughter from her first marriage. The man could not answer which country he was going to.
In the conversation, he said that his “beloved” was a private entrepreneur, while the woman said that she was a civil servant. The “couple” had different answers to a number of logical questions.
The “newlyweds” got married a month ago.
They failed to cross the border. The detachment’s operatives sent a report to the National Police about the detection of signs of a criminal offence under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
