At the Rava-Ruska private enterprise, a border dog helped detect drugs

An attempt to move drugs across the Ukrainian-Polish border was stopped by servicemen of the Lviv detachment at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint

Last night, a 62-year-old Ukrainian citizen arrived at the checkpoint in a Volkswagen minibus. According to the results of the analysis and risk assessment, the border guards together with the customs officers inspected the car. Later, a service dog trained to search for drugs was triggered. The border dog pointed to a suitcase in the luggage compartment. Inside, inspectors found a package with a pink powdery substance, weighing more than 500 grams, which was hidden under the substrate. Using a rapid test, border guards found that the substance found was amphetamine.

SBU officers were informed about this fact. Responsibility for this offense under Art. 305 of the Criminal Code “Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or falsified drugs.”

The “find” was handed over to law enforcement officers.
