Border guards together with customs officials stopped an attempt to smuggle tobacco products illegally at the Shegina checkpoint in Lviv Oblast.
Tonight, a Volkswagen minibus, driven by a 37-year-old Ukrainian, followed to the neighboring country. Based on the analysis and risk assessment, the vehicle was sent for additional inspection. Later, with the involvement of a service dog, inspectors discovered hidden contraband cigarettes. A resident of Lviv Oblast hid 550 packs of “Compliment” and “West” cigarettes without Ukrainian excise duty stamps under the ceiling paneling of the minibus.
According to this fact, the customs officials drew up a report. Tobacco products and a minibus were seized. The assessment amount is set.
