Border guards found ancient coins on the border with Poland
A collection of ancient coins was found by border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment together with customs officers at the Smilnytsia checkpoint.
A 33-year-old Polish citizen tried to take the coins, which may be of cultural or historical value, out of Ukraine.
During the control measures, the joint inspection team found 37 coins made of white and yellow metal. The coins, dated 1923-1957, were among the personal belongings in the Toyota car.
Customs officers seized the found items and drew up a report on violation of customs regulations. The coins will be sent for examination.
