The traffic accident happened on August 17, around 8:40 p.m., in the village of Lelekhivka, Yavoriv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf car, a 48-year-old local resident, while reversing, hit a pedestrian, a 12-year-old local resident.
As a result of the road accident, the girl received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
It was established that the driver of the car was in a state of alcohol intoxication.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Yavoriv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
