The Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office has charged a 49-year-old resident of a village in the Skhidnytsia community with causing serious bodily harm (Part 1, Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). lviv.gp.gov.ua
According to the investigation, in February of this year, the suspect hosted a drinking session with his 61-year-old acquaintance. During the conflict, he attacked the guest with a metal poker, chopped off his hand with an axe, and cut him with a knife.
- The victim suffered an open traumatic brain injury, a concussion, and rib fractures.
- The man also lost his hand.
Several hours later, the attacker asked a neighbor to call an ambulance. The victim is currently in the hospital, and the suspect has been detained according to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The court granted the prosecutor’s motion for his arrest.
The pretrial investigation is being conducted by the Drohobych district police department of Lviv Region. It should be noted that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.
