The Galician District Court seized property seized on 14 August during searches in the case of the murder of Irina Farion. The items include a FORT 12-R pistol and ammunition.

At the moment, it is not known whose weapon it is and whether it was the instrument of the crime.

The court considered a motion filed by the senior investigator of the Department for Investigation of Crimes Against Life and Health of a Person and ordered the seizure of the following property seized during a search on 14 August

The text of the ruling conceals information about the place of the search, as well as the person who was searched. There is also no information on who owns the weapon, and therefore it cannot be stated that it was the weapon used in the crime.

According to Svitlana Dobrovolska, a spokeswoman for the Lviv regional police, the material evidence seized during the searches was sent for examination:

“The police are taking a number of measures to establish the location of the murder weapon. The material evidence seized during the searches is being sent for examination. The investigation is ongoing”.

No further details were provided.

An appeal against the investigating judge’s ruling may be filed directly with the Lviv Court of Appeal within five days of its announcement.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko, a 9-by-18 millimetre bullet was found at the scene of Farion’s murder.
