In Stebnyk, police detained criminals suspected of inflicting fatal injuries to an acquaintance
It has been preliminarily established that two local residents, while visiting, beat the owner of the apartment during a conflict, causing him serious bodily harm. The victim died from his injuries.
On July 21, the police received a report that the body of a man with signs of violent death had been found in an apartment on Kalnyshevsky Street in Stebnyk.
An investigative team and officers from other services of the Drohobych District Police Department, as well as forensic specialists from the Lviv Police Department, immediately arrived at the scene. Experts found numerous injuries on the body of the deceased, a 63-year-old apartment owner.
Law enforcement officers established that the night before, around 10:30 p.m., while drinking alcohol, a conflict arose between the owner of the apartment and his guests – a 19-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man – during which the guests beat the owner, causing the victim fatal injuries.
The offenders were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The court will soon choose a measure of restraint.
Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office, served the detainees a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
