The perpetrator was exposed by operatives of the criminal police together with investigators of police department No. 3 of the Stryi district police department, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi district prosecutor’s office.
Law enforcement officers documented several facts of the sale of the narcotic drug “cannabis” by a 26-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district to drug-addicted residents of the city of Skole and nearby villages.
During a warrant search of the suspect’s residence, law enforcement officers discovered and seized a package containing a plant-derived substance similar to “cannabis,” zip bags, packing supplies, electronic scales, and other physical evidence. Everything removed is directed to expert research.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the man of the suspicion of committing crimes provided for in part 1, part 2 of article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine . The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation continues, according to the court’s decision, law enforcement officers took the suspect into custody.
