The body of a man with a student ID card of Lviv National University in the name of Oleksandr Hashevsky, who disappeared in mid-July, was found in the Tisa River on the border.

This was reported by the lawyer of the missing boy’s family, Oleg Veremiyenko.

Veremienko’s direct speech: “Today, on July 30, at the request of investigators from Lviv, I contacted the Mukachevo border guard detachment – the investigators gave me the number of this detachment – and they told me that a week and a half ago they received a message on Viber from Hungarian security forces that the body of a young man with a student card in his pocket named Oleksandr Hashevskyi was found in the Tisa River from the Hungarian side. I asked them what they did when they found the body. They said they immediately reported it to the rector of LNU.”

According to the lawyer, Gashevsky, a 4th year student who was enrolled in the 5th year, went to the Carpathians to rest – he wanted to visit places near Burkut in Ivano-Frankivsk region because “they are associated with Lesya Ukrainka and Ivan Franko.”

“On July 14, student Sasha Gashevsky called his father and had a short conversation of 39 seconds. The connection was poor. According to the father, his son told him that he was vacationing in the mountains, but now he got on a bus in Verkhovyna and was going home. The last word the father heard was “border guards”. Then the father got the impression that either the connection was cut off, or the phone was dead, or the phone was taken away from the boy,” the lawyer said.

Since then, he said, there has been no news from the young man. His parents began to sound the alarm.
