An eight-year-old boy was injured as a result of a road accident in the Lviv region – the police are investigating the circumstances
The traffic accident occurred on March 31 at around 6:20 p.m. in the village of Yampil, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Fiat car driven by a 37-year-old villager and a scooter driven by an eight-year-old boy, also a local resident. As a result of the accident, the boy was injured and taken to the hospital.
As a matter of fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
