In the Zolochiv district, the police detained an intruder on suspicion of inflicting serious injuries on his relative
A 37-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district faces up to eight years in prison for the crime.
As the employees of police department No. 2 of the Zolochiv district police department established, a domestic conflict between relatives occurred on March 11 around 7 p.m. on the territory of the household where they lived together. During an argument, a 37-year-old man stabbed his brother-in-law, one year older, in the chest with an awl, causing him injuries that doctors described as serious. The victim is currently undergoing treatment.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
