Cyclist killed by car in Lviv region – police establish circumstances of incident
The road accident occurred on 23 June, around 20.00, on the Velyki Mosty-Rava-Ruska road near the village of Staivka, Chervonohrad district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Fiat Doblo, a 20-year-old resident of a village in the district, hit a cyclist, a 63-year-old resident of Chervonohrad district.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the two-wheeler was injured and hospitalised in intensive care, where he died despite the efforts of doctors.
Investigators opened a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
