In support of the public accusation by the prosecutors of the Drohobych district prosecutor’s office, the court verdict found a resident of Drohobych region guilty of intentional murder, illegal handling of ammunition and unauthorized manufacture of firearms (Part 1 of Article 115, Part 1 of Article 263, Part 1 of Article 263-1 Criminal Code of Ukraine)
He was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment, at the same time, the court charged the injured party with 1.5 million hryvnias in moral damages.
Prosecutors proved in court that in March 2022, in one of the villages of the Drohobytsky district, the convict, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, took out a homemade gun from the car and shot the latter in the chest during a conflict with the victim. After that, he threw the body of his victim into the lake.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force, the parties can appeal it in the appeals court.
