A minor was injured in a car accident in Novoyavorivsk – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The traffic accident occurred on March 20, around 16:30, on Bandera Street in Novoyavorivsk.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mazda 626, a 44-year-old resident of one of the villages in Yavoriv district, hit a pedestrian, a 16-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the minor girl was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
