The police are investigating the circumstances of the death of a 16-year-old student as a result of being hit by a train in the Lviv region
The law enforcement officers once again appeal to the citizens – be as attentive and careful as possible while on the railway tracks, cross them only in the prescribed months, making sure that there is no train. Remember that the railway is a high-danger zone.
On September 18, around 8:00 a.m., the police received a report that a girl’s body was found at a race in the village of Ozhidiv, Zolochiv district.
The investigative and operative group and other employees of police department No. 2 of the Zolochiv district police department worked at the scene of the incident. Police officers found the body of a girl with injuries typical of a train collision near the railway track. The identity of the deceased, a 16-year-old resident of the village of Ozhidiv, a second-year student at one of the Lviv universities, has been established.
It was also established that the student was hit by an unidentified train at night, as a result of which she received life-threatening injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Zolochiv district department opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
