At the Hrushev checkpoint, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment recorded another bribery attempt.
A native of Rivne region born in 1994 was on his way out of Ukraine. Because he did not have all the necessary documents for travelling abroad, the man offered the border guards UAH 1,000. The bribe taker put the money in his passport.
Officers of the State Border Guard Service’s Internal Affairs Department informed the National Police about the bribery of officials.
This is the eighth case since the beginning of the month of an attempt to provide illegal funds to border guards.
Liability for this offence is provided for in Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Offer, promise or giving of an unlawful benefit to an official”.
