Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation is underway in the criminal proceedings on illegal activities in organising and conducting gambling (Part 1 Article 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, during 2024, a group of people organised an illegal gambling establishment in a rented non-residential premises in Shehyny (Mostyskyi district). The gamblers were notified of gambling events by phone.
As a result of the searches, law enforcement officers seized equipment for illegal gambling, draft accounting, system units, network equipment, payment cards, video recorders and about UAH 250 thousand in cash.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by detectives of the SBU Department in Lviv region, with operational support provided by the SBU Department for Strategic Economic Protection in Lviv region and the SID in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
