In the Yavoriv district, a pedestrian was seriously injured as a result of a car collision – the police are asking for witnesses to come forward

The police officers are asking the eyewitnesses of the traffic accident that happened on June 9, around 10:30 p.m., on the forest road between the village of Ivano-Frankivsk and the city of Novoyavorivsk in the Yavoriv district to come forward.

It was preliminarily established that an unknown driver, driving an unidentified car, hit a 54-year-old pedestrian, a resident of Lviv, and then, without stopping, fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian received serious injuries and was hospitalized for resuscitation.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.

Law enforcement officers are taking all measures to search for the car that was involved in the collision and to establish the identity of the fleeing driver.
