Patrolmen discovered a traffic accident, which was committed by a driver in a strong state of alcohol intoxication and tried to flee from the scene
Yesterday evening, patrol officers noticed a road accident at the intersection of Horodotska and Stantsiyna streets. This was reported to the Patrol Police of the Lviv region.
There was a Volkswagen Caddy with typical signs of an accident near the damaged road sign. The number plates were removed from the car, and there was no one around.
A car with the emergency signal on was standing several dozen meters away. The driver and passenger were sitting there. They said they ran out of fuel. The passenger was visibly nervous and had fresh scratches on his knees.
During a surface check, the keys to the Volkswagen Caddy were found in the passenger’s possession. He admitted that he had caused an accident. Returning together to the scene, the man opened the car and took out documents and license plates from the vehicle.
Since the police found signs of alcohol intoxication in the driver, he was offered a test and he agreed. The Drager breathalyzer showed a result of 3.59 ppm.
The 29-year-old violator was issued three protocols: under part 1 of Art. 130 (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated), according to Art. 124 (Violation of traffic rules that led to an accident) and Art. 122-4 (Leaving the scene of a traffic accident) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The Railway District Administration was informed about the broken sign. Did you drink? Do not sit behind the wheel!
