Yesterday in Lviv, a drunk driver caused two accidents and fled the scene of the accident

Yesterday, around 2 p.m., the patrol crew received a report of an accident on Zelena Street. The applicant reported that the driver of a Daewoo Lanos hit his Citroen car and fled the scene. The man did not see the license plate.

This was reported to the Voice of Sokal Region by the Patrol Police of the Lviv region.

In just a few minutes, a report of an accident involving a similar car was received not far from the previous accident. After hitting a Volkswagen car, the offender drove on.

It was possible to stop the fugitive’s car at one of the checkpoints. During the conversation with the 37-year-old Lviv man, the inspectors found obvious signs of alcohol intoxication. The man said he drank 300 grams of vodka. The Drager device showed 2.41 ppm.

The patrol officers drew up 5 protocols against the driver: according to Part 1 of Art. 130 (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated), two protocols under Art. 124 (Violation of traffic rules that led to an accident) and two protocols under Art. 122-4 (Leaving the scene of an accident) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Another car accident with victims took place on Shevchenko Street. Previously, the driver of the Opel Omega car, while overtaking, collided with the Ford Focus car, which was moving in the same direction, and in an inertial motion ran into the Citroen Berlingo car, which was moving in the oncoming traffic lane.

The 26-year-old driver of the Opel Omega car was found to have signs of alcohol intoxication at the medical facility. As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the Citroen Berlingo were hospitalized.

By the way, over the past day, Lviv patrol officers found signs of intoxication in 10 drivers.

The consequences are different – the conclusion is the same: the steering wheel in combination with alcohol endangers not only the driver, but also other road users!
