Out of this number, 10 traffic accidents involved victims, resulting in 1 death and 20 injuries of varying severity.
In addition, police identified 1,831 drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and drew up administrative reports against them.
All the consequences of driving under the influence are provided for by the current legislation, in particular, Article 130 (Driving vehicles or vessels by persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants or under the influence of drugs that reduce their attention and reaction time) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles under the influence).
As a reminder, a citizen who drives for the first time while under the influence of alcohol or drugs will face administrative liability in the form of a fine of UAH 17,000 and deprivation of the right to drive for 1 year;
– if the driver violated the requirements of Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for the second time, he or she will face a fine of UAH 34,000 and deprivation of the right to drive for 3 years, with or without a paid seizure of the vehicle, or administrative arrest for a period of ten days with deprivation of the right to drive for 3 years:
– if the driver has driven a vehicle in a drunken state for the third time in a year, administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine of UAH 51,000 and deprivation of the right to drive for 10 years and confiscation of the vehicle, or administrative detention for 15 days with deprivation of the right to drive for 10 years and confiscation of the car.
It should also be noted that refusal of a person driving a vehicle to undergo a test for alcohol, drug or other intoxication or for the use of drugs that reduce attention and reaction time in accordance with the established procedure entails administrative liability.
Drivers, in no case should you drive if you are in a state of intoxication. We also appeal to passengers – never get into a car if you suspect that it is driven by a drunk driver!
