An employee of a boarding school in the Stryi region will be tried for stealing humanitarian aid for children with disabilities

Under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment was filed against a local resident on the fact of theft (Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

The investigation established that the defendant, working in an orphanage, stole food intended for children with disabilities. Among the stolen property were food provided to the institution as humanitarian aid.

The indictment is directed to the Nikolaev interdistrict court for consideration in essence.

If a person is found guilty in court, the person faces up to 8 years in prison.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by investigators of the Stryj RUP of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
