Under the procedural leadership of the Stryi district prosecutor’s office, a 49-year-old resident of Stryi region was notified of suspicion of illegal sowing and cultivation of poppy and hemp (parts 1, 2 of article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, at the end of April 2022, the suspect illegally sowed and grew 483 hemp plants and 300 poppy plants on his homestead plot in one of the villages of the Stryi district.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the State Department No. 1 of the Stryi RUP of the Provincial Government of the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
