The traffic accident occurred on February 24, around 00:30, on Skolivska Street in Stryu.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the BMW 535 car, a 27-year-old man from Strynia, lost control and drove into a fence and an electric pole.
As a result of the accident, the driver received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in intensive care.
According to the fact, investigators of the Stryi district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
